They Engage You With Peace Talks While They Are Actually Planning To Assassinate You — Gumi Slams US

Amid ongoing war between Iran, the United States and Israel, Nigerian Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has sharply criticised Western powers for what he describes as duplicitous diplomacy following the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a post on his verified Facebook account, Gumi warned that peace talks offered by foreign governments often mask hidden intentions, accusing them of advancing lethal plans once opponents are “off guard.”

His comments reflect growing concern among some observers who see the conflict — which has intensified since last week’s strikes — as involving strategic manoeuvring beyond stated diplomatic efforts.

Gumi’s remarks come days after Iran confirmed the killing of Khamenei in a joint U.S.–Israeli military operation, a development that has already triggered waves of missile exchanges and regional anxieties. The cleric criticised what he characterised as “treacherous people” who, in his view, use negotiations to lower guards only to launch attacks when least expected.

The Nigerian religious figure’s intervention adds to a chorus of international reactions that frame the conflict in ideological and moral terms. Iranian state narratives have painted Khamenei as a steadfast leader whose death will fuel further resistance, while critics elsewhere challenge Tehran’s record on regional behaviour.

Gumi’s stance aligns with those who view recent Western military actions as deceptive and motivated by interests beyond peaceful resolution.See_More…
