A dramatic scene unfolded at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), after a lecturer reportedly destroyed an architecture student’s project, accusing the student of not being capable of creating such an outstanding design.
Videos from the moment has been seen trending on social media pages.
Student laments as lecturer destroys his project
The video showed the student standing besides his lecturer who used a stick to damage his building project.
Via the caption, the student revealed that the lecturer had damaged it because he didn’t believe that he could have created such a design all by himself.
According to the student, it was the third time in one semester that they’ve destroyed his work, because they didn’t believe he did it.
He captioned …
“Your lecturer didn’t believe you did your work. This is the 3rd time this semester they didn’t believe I did my work.”

@ispeakdefi said: “You see why many talented students lose interest?
The moment you try to do something extraordinary, someone in authority feels intimidated.
Instead of saying “well done” they try to bring you down to their level 😂”
@KennethUzorma remarked: “If you didn’t go to FUTO, you wouldn’t understand why we called it Frquently Under Tension Owerri lol”
@heytish_ wrote: “This isn’t about stifling creativity; it’s about academic integrity. If the lecturer suspects outsourcing, destroying the model might be extreme but necessary to deter dishonesty. Instead of blaming the lecturer, we should question why such suspicions arise. Is it the lecturer’s fault, or a systemic issue where students prioritize shortcuts over genuine effort? This could be a wake-up call for a culture that values appearances over hard work.”
