The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Isah Atiku, has shared his views on the political appeal of Peter Obi, particularly in northern Nigeria, ahead of future elections.
Speaking in a video posted on Symfoni, Atiku noted that Obi already possesses qualities that resonate with voters in the North but suggested that there is a key element missing that could significantly boost his support in the region.
He explained that if Obi is able to identify and address this gap, he could secure a substantial share of votes in the North without necessarily relying on political alliances or selecting a running mate from the region, emphasizing the importance of strategy and perception in national politics.
According to him, “Okay, why are people talking about Peter Obi? Let me tell you, there’s something missing in Peter Obi; if he realizes that, he’ll get 40% of Northern votes without even having to bring any top politician from the north to be his vice president. What is it? You see, Peter Obi has something that northerners love and appreciate so much.”
