Tension After Killing of Bandit’s Father In Kastina

Tension is rising in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State after Alhaji Ibrahim Nagode, father of a notorious bandit leader, was shot dead during an operation by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

Nagode, 60, a resident of Na’alma village, was the father of Haruna Ibrahim, popularly known as Fada. According to sources quoted by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred as Fada was returning to the community days after a newly negotiated peace accord between bandit groups and local residents.

Security officials revealed that the area had already been on high alert following intelligence reports indicating that armed groups were regrouping in nearby forests. Joint troops had been deployed to strengthen patrols and prevent attacks, but the operation resulted in Nagode being fatally shot.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested and detained all CJTF personnel involved in the incident.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation amid concerns that the killing could provoke retaliation and jeopardize the fragile truce recently brokered with bandits. Security agencies and community leaders have emphasized the need to uphold the peace agreements to avoid further violence.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement in the area.
