The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored bulk electricity supply to the Mando-Kaduna 132-kilovolt transmission line, following several days of power outages in parts of Kaduna State, especially Southern Kaduna.
Spokesperson Ndidi Mbah confirmed in a statement on Friday that full restoration was achieved around 5:23 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025, after the repair of Tower No. 7 in Rigasa Community, Kaduna State.
Mbah stated, “The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) wishes to inform the public that power supply has been fully restored through the 132 kV transmission line affected by the recent collapse of Tower No. 7 in Rigasa Community, Kaduna State. Full restoration of bulk power transmission was successfully completed yesterday following the repair and reinforcement of the collapsed tower, carried out by TCN’s dedicated engineering and maintenance teams.”
The company expressed gratitude to electricity customers for their patience during the outage and commended the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) for its support throughout the repair process.
The outage stemmed from the collapse of transmission towers in Kaduna State Town Line I and II, which had disrupted power supply to Southern Kaduna and surrounding areas. TCN’s rapid repair and reinforcement efforts have now restored normal electricity flow, mitigating the impact on households and businesses affected by the blackout .
