A student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) has gone viral after revealing how thieves broke into her hostel during the holiday, carting away her belongings, including a plastic bag of garri.
The student, who shared her ordeal via her TikTok page, @baby___marvel, explained that she had left her hostel room locked and stocked with groceries before travelling home for the break.
Her food items included spaghetti, condiments, and a large plastic container of garri that was still visibly filled before she left.
Upon her return, she was shocked to find the room looted, with most of her supplies stolen. The highlight of the theft, and what drew the most reactions online, was that even the plastic of garri was taken away.
Viral video sparks reactions
In the video, she displayed before-and-after shots of her room. The clip began with shelves stacked with provisions, followed by footage of the near-empty space after the break-in.
A voiceover in the background captured the shock, saying: “Infact, they stole her garri plastic.”
... has since attracted widespread attention, with viewers trooping to the comment section to sympathise with her while also making light-hearted jokes about the stolen garri.
