Roadside cleaners under the aegis of Operation Keep Taraba Clean have appealed to Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to attract more federal support and development projects to the state.
The group made the appeal during a mega rally held in Jalingo on Thursday in honour of the governor. Speaking at the event, the state coordinator, Iliya Kefas, described the call as both “crucial and timely.”
He commended Governor Kefas for his performance under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but argued that aligning with the APC-led Federal Government would enable him to bring greater infrastructural and economic benefits to Taraba.
“The governor has done well under the PDP, but he cannot achieve enough without strong support from the Federal Government. That’s why we are calling on him to join the APC,” Iliya Kefas said.
He emphasized that the appeal was not about partisan politics but about the collective progress of the state, noting that Taraba has a friendly political climate conducive for development.
“With His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the APC, Taraba and Nigeria will be great,” he added.
The rally, attended by dozens of cleaners and residents, highlighted their appreciation for the governor’s efforts in improving the state’s environment and welfare while expressing hope that his alignment with the ruling party would strengthen federal–state cooperation.
