The outgoing Taraba State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed Governor Agbu Kefas for a second term in the 2027 governorship election and also backed President Bola Tinubu for re-election.
Chairman of the party in Taraba, Alhaji Ibrahim El-Sudi, announced the endorsement on Monday in Jalingo, saying it was based on the leadership performance demonstrated by both officials.
El-Sudi noted that since Governor Kefas joined the APC, the party had worked closely with him to consolidate political realignment in the state. He said the governor embraced the party leadership and ensured a smooth and peaceful transition into the ruling party.
According to him, the process was conducted without rancour, unlike experiences in some other states, describing the development as a reflection of maturity and statesmanship.
He also stated that under an atmosphere of unity and cooperation, the party successfully held congresses across all 168 wards and 16 local government areas with minimal challenges.
El-Sudi further disclosed that the party’s electronic membership registration and revalidation exercise recorded strong participation in Taraba, adding that the state emerged as one of the top-performing states in the process.
He commended Governor Kefas for supporting internal party activities and ensuring that congresses were conducted transparently, saying the approach had strengthened unity and internal democracy within the APC in the state.
