Students gather on main road to welcome Tinubu in Imo State

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a colourful welcome in Owerri, Imo State, as students from primary and secondary schools, together with several community groups, lined the major roads to greet him during his working visit.

The excited children, dressed in their school uniforms, waved flags and sang as the President’s convoy drove past. Alongside them were cultural dancers, women groups, and youth associations who came out in large numbers to show support.

The atmosphere was filled with cheers, music, and displays of local culture, turning the city into a scene of celebration.

President Tinubu’s visit to Imo was part of his official engagement to inaugurate key projects completed under Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Some of the major projects unveiled include the newly refurbished Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, the modern Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, the Asumpta Flyover, and the Imo Digital Learning Centre.

Governor Uzodinma also showcased his administration’s achievements in technology and digital innovation, highlighting platforms such as MylmoApp, the Imo Digital City, and SkillUplmo Techosphere, which are providing thousands of young people with digital training and job opportunities.

The President further commended the state government for attracting oil and gas companies to the Orashi Free Trade Zone, a move expected to boost investment and create employment for the people.

The warm reception by school children and community groups reflected not just excitement about the President’s visit but also hope that the partnership between the Federal and State Governments will continue to bring development to Imo State.
