Street cleaners rejoice as Governor Mutfwang increases their salary to ₦30,000

Street cleaners in Plateau State couldn’t contain their excitement as Governor Caleb Mutfwang announced their salaries will rise to ₦30,000 starting October 2025.

In Jos and Bukuru metropolis, this means workers will now earn double their previous pay of ₦15,000, which was itself an improvement from the ₦8,000 under the former administration.

Speaking on AIT News Live, Governor Mutfwang said:

“From the end of October, street cleaners will not earn anything less than ₦30,000 per month.”

The hardworking women were seen jubilating with so much excitement, while expressing gratitude to the Governor for recognizing their dedication.

The salary increase is part of a broader plan to revitalize Plateau State’s civil service and public services.

This move underscores the importance of essential workers and sets an example for other states on prioritizing those who keep cities clean and livable.
