Stop playing politics, propaganda with everything – Wike tells Peter Obi

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday told former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to stop playing politics and propaganda ‘with everything’.

Wike spoke during the commissioning of the newly Constructed Roads ILS 11 (Esther Bali Street) and MAR 24 (Kez Udezue Street) in Mabushi District, Abuja

Wike spoke while reacting to reports of Obi’s visit to LEA Primary School in Kapwa, Abuja.

During the visit Obi had decried the absence of toilet and the deplorable state of the school.

However, Wike criticized the former presidential candidate over his inability to call his attention to the situation, stressing that the road being commissioned was brought to his knowledge by responsible Nigerians.

Wike said: “It’s not everything that you must play politics with but let me say this, Peter Obi you were governor for eight years in Anambra State. If you had finished all the jobs in eight years, nobody will be talking about developing Anambra State now.”

He alleged that Obi kept funds meant to develop Anambra State in a bank to yield interests while the people of the state suffered.

“Instead of developing Anambra, you put the state money in Fidelity Bank and why did you have problem with your successor? Anambra State had problems, you put the money for the development of Anambra State in the bank you had lion share, so that profit will be coming and Anambra will be suffering.

“Mr Peter Obi we just came to the office two years ago, we have not even spent four years but you spent eight years. Compare the two years we have spent in office with the eight years in office in Anambra, can you really say you love this country? Can you really say you love Ndi-Anambra? Certainly not.

“If I were you why not keep quiet, enough is enough, you can’t be President of Nigeria only when you go to one IDP camp or birthday party, who is interested in all those things?

“Doing your birthday in IDP camp does not make you feel you love Nigeria or want to do anything for Nigeria. When you were governor why didn’t you do your birthday in IDP camp?

“It’s now that you want to do your birthday that everyday you do your birthday with the less privilege, who will you deceive? Enough is enough,” he said.
