Following the arrest of armed robbers linked to the death of Arise TV anchor Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, shocking details have emerged.
Recall that GISTREEL reported on September 29, 2025, that armed robbers attacked Somtochukwu’s residence in the Katampe Extension area of Abuja, tragically resulting in the journalist’s death.
Authorities have apprehended about 12 suspects involved in the crime. During questioning, the suspects admitted not only to the attack but also to stealing a white Honda CR-V belonging to one of the victims.
In a suprising revelation, the suspects disclosed that they each received ₦200,000 from the proceeds of the crime.

“The suspects also confessed to stealing and driving away a white Honda CR-V belonging to one of the victims and shared ₦200,000 each from the proceeds of the crime.”
The confession has since stirred strong reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing disbelief and anger over the senseless loss of life.
In related development, Arise Television journalist, Rufai Oseni, has shared fresh details surrounding the death of his late colleague, Somtochukwu Christella Maduagwu, who died in her Abuja residence during a robbery attack weeks ago.
Oseni shared the development on his social media page on Thursday, disclosing a report he received on the progress of the investigation into the tragic incident that claimed the lives of Maduagwu and a security guard, Mr Barnabas Danlami.
