Some Of The Fiercest Critics Of My Interview Can Not Even Stand Local TV Anchors– Daniel Bwala

Daniel Bwala has defended his recent interview with international journalist Mehdi Hassan after it sparked widespread debate online.

In a press statement on Saturday via X, the presidential media adviser said many of the people criticizing the interview would not even be comfortable facing tough questions from local television anchors. According to him, defending the government publicly is part of the responsibility that comes with his role, and he remains ready to appear before any interviewer anywhere in the world to speak for the administration.

Bwala explained that before accepting the interview invitation, he understood that he would be questioned about issues such as security, the economy, and corruption. However, he said he was not informed beforehand that questions about his past political comments would also be raised. He argued that interviewers should normally notify guests when such topics will be discussed so they can prepare their responses.

Despite the controversy, Bwala maintained that he did not avoid the questions during the interview and insisted he would never run from public scrutiny. He also suggested that some of the claims presented during the interview were inaccurate and said he would address those issues at a later time.

The presidential adviser also responded to criticism over comments he made about President Bola Tinubu in the past, saying political positions often change when people move from opposition politics into government.

Bwala concluded by thanking supporters who praised his performance and said he looks forward to another round of the interview where discussions will focus more on government policies and achievements.

In his words, “Some of the fiercest critics of my interview can not even stand local TV anchors.”See_More…
