Sister Jean announces retirement at 106

Loyola Chicago legend, Sister Jean, has retired from her role as campus minister and men’s basketball chaplain at 106.

According to a report obtained from TMZ, her retirement was confirmed to the student newspaper by the school’s president, Mark C. Reed.

TMZ reports that Sister Jean’s retirement from the university was confirmed by Mark C. Reed.

According to him, she’ll continue praying and supporting the university despite no longer being physically present on campus.

Sister Jean’s Recent Health Crisis

Sister Jean’s recent health crisis led to her retirement from Loyola University Chicago’s campus duties, including her role as chaplain of the men’s basketball team, due to health reasons.

She experienced health setbacks after falling from her wheelchair in the spring and dealing with a summer cold.

Notably, Sister Jean was hired by Loyola University Chicago in 1986.

Prior to being part of Loyola University, she worked at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago.
