A family in Nakuru is grieving the tragic death of their relative, Jackline Awuor, who was murdered by her estranged partner.
Her body was discovered in a quarry in Maili Saba, Bahati Constituency.Relatives revealed that she had been beheaded, leaving them horrified and devastated.
Awuor, who worked as a security guard at the Geothermal Development Company, did not report for work on Sunday, March 29, prompting her employer to reach out to her family.
She had left home early that morning but never arrived at her workplace.
One of her sisters, Roselyn Auma, visited the house and found only Jackline’s child asleep inside.
She collected a few belongings before returning home, still worried about her sister. Later, the family received the heartbreaking news that Jackline’s body had been found in the quarry.Her other sister, Anne Atieno, said the relationship had been difficult, with frequent disputes over money.
She explained that the man would often demand her earnings and had convinced Jackline to quit a better job with promises of starting a business that never happened.
Anne added that Jackline had recently told her she planned to end the relationship and move away.
Nakuru North Subcounty Police Commander Charity Karimi stated that the suspect had a history of domestic threats, warning Jackline that he would kill her if she left him, though no official report had been made.
Police have launched an investigation and are searching for the suspect while the family prepares for the burial.
