Vice President Kashim Shettima has welcomed an offer from India’s Schoolnet India Ltd & Learnet Skills Ltd to partner with Nigerian public and private entities to introduce its KYAN smart class solutions in the nation’s schools.
Shettima, who received the delegation led by Managing Director/CEO RCM Reddy on Monday, described the project as potentially very beneficial for primary and secondary schools, provided it is “domesticated with local content.”
The KYAN smart class solution aims to digitally transform education by introducing interactive smart boards and digital content to improve learning outcomes.

He praised the technology, describing it as a “rugged package with the capacity to deliver.”
Shettima asked the Schoolnet team to liaise with relevant Nigerian federal government officials to ensure the learning package is integrated with local content and curriculum.
“The beauty of KYAN is that it is a very rugged machine. You can use one card to teach 70 students,” he said, stressing his greater interest in the package for primary and secondary schools.
He suggested using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to customise the content, noting that “the Indian version of English is different from our own.”
He cited the existing smart school initiatives in Edo and Enugu states, suggesting that integrating those indigenous ideas with the KYAN solutions into a single unit would benefit Nigerian schools significantly.
Reddy explained that the company is offering a unique, all-in-one solution known as KYAN, or “a school in a box”, which transforms any wall into a smart board.
The technology’s features include an integrated projector and a high-end computer, a camera and preloaded digital content for grades 1 to 10 and the use of AI where internet is available, but the device functions fully offline with all content preloaded where connectivity is absent.
Reddy promised to work closely with Nigerian officials to design an integrated solution suitable for all Nigerian communities, including remote areas.
He added that proper deployment of the system can significantly improve teacher performance.

Shettima recalled that he had deployed the KYAN smart class solutions to teach students in Borno State during his tenure as governor.
