Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Switzerland to attend the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled to hold from January 19 to 23, 2026.
Newsmen reports that the Vice President arrived from Conakry, Guinea, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya on Saturday.
Shettima was received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, as well as officials of the Nigerian mission in Switzerland.
The 2026 WEF marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s global economic diplomacy with the official debut of “Nigeria House Davos.” For the first time, the Federal Government has established a dedicated sovereign pavilion on the Davos Promenade to showcase the country’s economic reforms and investment potential.
Speaking to journalists shortly after arrival, Minister of Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole said Nigeria would make a strong case for investment opportunities at the launch of Nigeria House, with a focus on President Tinubu’s ongoing economic reforms.
According to her, the country will unveil four strategic playbooks highlighting the administration’s efforts at re-engineering the Nigerian economy.
“We will be showcasing our solid minerals sector, climate sustainability initiatives, agriculture, and the creative and digital sectors to investors from across the world,” Oduwole said.
