‎Patron of the City Boy Movement, Seyi Tinubu, has urged members of the organisation to intensify grassroots mobilisation and youth engagement to sustain the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

‎Speaking at the opening dinner of the City Boy Movement National Retreat held at the State House, Abuja, Seyi Tinubu said the organisation had grown beyond being a campaign platform to become a nationwide movement committed to national development.

‎”This is more than just the opening of a retreat. It is the beginning of a movement. It is the coming together of men and women who have chosen to dedicate their time, energy and talents to the service of Nigeria and the advancement of the Renewed Hope vision,” he said.

‎He commended members who travelled from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, describing their commitment as evidence of selfless leadership.

‎According to him, the City Boy Movement has become a national network promoting youth participation, volunteerism and democratic values, but warned members against complacency.

‎”We have only scratched the surface of what we have come together to accomplish. Our greatest victory is still ahead of us. This retreat is not a celebration of yesterday; it is preparation for tomorrow,” he added.

‎On the Tinubu administration’s policies, Seyi Tinubu said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inherited serious economic and security challenges but had introduced reforms aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening security, expanding infrastructure and improving education.

‎He acknowledged that many Nigerians were still feeling the effects of the reforms and urged members to explain government policies with empathy and facts.

‎”Many of these reforms have required difficult decisions, and many Nigerians continue to feel their impact. But we are also beginning to see progress. Our engagement must therefore be responsible, factual and compassionate,” he stated.

‎Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Francis Shoga, disclosed that the organisation was targeting 10 million youth votes for President Tinubu in the next general election through grassroots mobilisation.

‎”Ten million votes will not come from slogans or social media. They will come from real people, real members, real engagement and hard work at the grassroots,” Shoga said.

‎Also speaking, the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Mariya Mahmoud, commended the movement for promoting patriotism and responsible citizenship, while Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, urged young Nigerians to actively participate in governance.

‎In his vote of thanks, Co-Patron of the movement, Kashim Shettima Junior, described the City Boy Movement as “the biggest youth political movement in Africa,” urging members to remain united and committed to expanding its grassroots reach.
