The Senate has screened and confirmed Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro for appointment as a Minister of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This followed a motion moved by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (Ekiti Central) for the Senate to consider the request of President Bola Tinubu for the confirmation of the nomination of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro for appointment as a Minister.
Tinubu’s request was in accordance with the provision of Section 147(2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
The Senate dissolved into a “Committee of the Whole” where the nominee answered some questions.
When the Senate reverted to plenary, the Senate President Godswill Akpabio put the question “Will the Senate confirm the nomination of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro for appointment as a minister of the government of the Federation of Nigeria? It was a resounding “aye”.
Akpabio then thanked the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and his colleagues for all the questions, and congratulated the nominee who, he said “possesses such very excellent qualifications” for his confirmation today by the Nigerian senate as the minister of the federal republic of Nigeria.
He congratulated President Bola Tinubu “for searching for our sons and finding them wherever they are to bring them into the service of the nation. He wished the nominee and the good people of Plateau state well.
