The Abuja Scrap, Environmental Waste and Scavengers Association has applauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for appointing town planner Galadima Mukhtar as Senior Special Assistant on Development Control and Town Planning.
Speaking in Abuja, the association’s chairman, Mukhtar Mohammed, said Galadima earned the confidence of practitioners after serving diligently as Director of Development Control.
He said the former director “left visible footprints”, noting that standards were maintained under his supervision, especially in the approval of building plans.
Mohammed called for stronger cooperation between the association and the new SSA, particularly in regulating the group’s activities across the territory.
He urged Galadima to consider initiatives for temporary space allocations for members, saying the association also contributes to the FCT’s revenue drive.
“As a registered association, our members are disciplined and abhor theft of critical infrastructure,” he said, adding that they remain committed to supporting the FCT authorities.
