The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of General Abdullahi Mohammed (Rtd), a former Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umar Musa Yar’Adua.
General Mohammed, a highly respected military officer and statesman, was reported to have died in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a condolence message, Gobir described the late General as a patriotic Nigerian, a loving husband, a doting father, a disciplined officer, and a man of unquestionable integrity who dedicated his life to national service.
He said the nation has lost a fine leader whose contributions to governance and security management will be long remembered.
The Sarkin Gobir extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the government, the Emir of Ilorin and good people of Kwara State, and the entire nation. He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
