The Tinubu Uba Leadership Network (TULN), Southern Kaduna chapter, has dismissed reports suggesting that Gov. Uba Sani has been lobbying opposition politicians to defect to the APC.
The group, therefore, described such insinuations as a “cheap propaganda” targeted at undermining the Governor’s rising profile.
The reaction, followed a statement from the media office of Sen. Sunday Katung (PDP- Kaduna South), on Thursday in Kaduna, reaffirming his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amid speculations of a possible defection.
In the statement by its State Chairman, Jacob Maiyaki, and other officials, TULN maintained that Sani’s performance and the people’s confidence in his administration were sufficient to sustain APC’s dominance in the state.
Maiyaki stated that APC’s victories in recent by-elections in Zaria, Sabon Gari and Chikun/Kajuru Constituencies were some of the unparalleled feats of Si.
According to him, the voluntary return of prominent politicians including Sen. Danjuma Laah, Yakubu Barde, Amos Magaji and retired Brig.-Gen. Simon Katunku, were clear evidences that the ruling party was consolidating while the opposition continued to weaken.
The group further stressed that Southern Kaduna’s political future does not revolve around any individual
Maiyaki said, “It is premised on the collective resolve of the people who have already aligned themselves with Gov. Sani and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Gov. Uba Sani does not need to beg anyone to join the APC.
“His inclusive leadership, infrastructural projects, empowerment programmes, improved security, and educational reforms have already earned him the trust of the people.
“The era of political arrogance and godfatherism is over. Southern Kaduna people are now more interested in results than empty propaganda.
“Our party is firmly ahead, and Governor Uba Sani has no reason to beg.”
According to him, Sani was the first to openly declare support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election.
Maiyaki also opined the governor was fully mobilising the APC North-West together with fellow governors, the Deputy Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and other national leaders.
He, therefore, cautioned the opposition to desist from cheap propaganda, stating that the APC in Southern Kaduna was not desperate.
According to Maiyaki, they were ahead because their leader was delivering.
“We stand united behind President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Sani for the future of Kaduna and for the future of Nigeria.
“Traditional leaders, community elders and grassroots organisations had already pledged bloc votes for 2027 in exchange for concrete development.
“For decades, Southern Kaduna was treated as a ‘beautiful bride’ in Northern politics courted, but never empowered. That era is over.“ the group declared.
Others who jointly endorsed the statement were the Vice Chairman of TULN, Hussaini Modibbo, Deputy Coordinator, Rebecca Shehu, the Director of Youths mobilisation, Sabastine Gonoh, Director of Research and Documentation, Emma Bagu and the 11 LGA coordinators.(NAN)
