After being left out of Liverpool’s starting lineup for more than three consecutive matches, forward Mohamed Salah has openly expressed his disappointment about his recent lack of minutes.
The Egyptian star suggested that someone within the club is trying to make him carry the blame for the team’s recent struggles.
Salah did not feature at all in Saturday’s 3-3 draw against Leeds United the third match in a row in which he remained on the bench.

According to a statement shared on X by Fabrizio Romano, Salah said:
“I always had a strong relationship with the coach, and suddenly it feels like that relationship doesn’t exist anymore. I have no idea why. It feels like someone doesn’t want me here.”
He went on to say, “It’s becoming obvious to me that somebody wants me to be seen as the one at fault.
“I’ve said many times that I’ve had a good relationship with the manager, but now, out of nowhere, that seems to be gone. I don’t understand it.
“It feels like the club is throwing me under the bus that’s honestly how it feels.
“This club will always have my love. My children will always support Liverpool. That won’t change.
“But this situation is unacceptable to me. I don’t understand it. It’s like they keep pushing the blame onto me, and I don’t think I’m the issue. I’ve given so much to this team. I shouldn’t have to fight every single day to prove myself I have already earned my place.”
Salah, now 33, scored 29 Premier League goals in the 2024–25 season as Liverpool won the title in Arne Slot’s debut campaign, but has managed only four goals in 13 league games this season.
Signed from Roma in 2017 under Jürgen Klopp, Salah has gone on to score 250 goals in 420 appearances for the Reds.
