Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has appointed Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG). Anabraba previously served as the Commissioner for Lands and Survey under Fubara’s administration.
His appointment follows the reinstatement of Governor Fubara, six months after President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending the governor and the State House of Assembly. During the emergency, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas was appointed Sole Administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
With the conclusion of the emergency rule, President Tinubu ordered Fubara’s return to office, paving the way for key appointments, including Anabraba’s elevation to SSG.
