Reactions Trail What Obi Said After He Watched Video Of How Nigerian Soldiers Were Killed In Borno

Many social media users have been reacting online after Peter Obi shared his thoughts on a disturbing video showing the aftermath of an attack in Borno State where several soldiers were reportedly killed by bandits.

The incident came to light after The Punch reported that members of Boko Haram launched an assault on a military base located in Ngoshe, within the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State. According to the report, the attack resulted in the deaths of several military personnel. It was also reported that some women were taken away by the attackers during the raid.

Reacting to the tragic development, Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), described the incident as deeply troubling and unacceptable. He expressed sorrow over the loss of lives, noting that both civilians and soldiers were among the victims.

Obi also suggested that repeated security tragedies across the country reflect deeper issues with governance, arguing that poor leadership has contributed to the challenges Nigerians continue to face.

In a message posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, he wrote:

“I watched several videos of this tragedy with deep horror. Once again we are confronted with the painful reality of the daily suffering that far too many Nigerians are forced to endure. This is unacceptable.”

After the statement appeared online, numerous social media users responded with their own views, sparking widespread discussion about the security situation in the country.
