There have been several reactions from the general public and particularly social media users after ADC Chieftain and Elderstateman, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar received a group of Southeast leaders from Enugu State. According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, he disclosed the reasons behind the meeting.
Atiku Abubakar, former vice president and Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC was recently paid a courtesy visit by a group of Southeast leaders from Enugu State ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
This was contained in a recent post which the Elderstateman shared on his official X handle on Tuesday March 31st, 2026 accompanied by heartfelt footages from the meeting.
According to his statements, he pointed out that the group identified as the ‘Enugu Polling Booths Vanguard for Atiku’ made several demands during the visit.
Notable amongst the demands, according to the former vice president, included the protection of ballot boxes and votes casted by the people, as they admitted that the sanctity of the ballots must be protected.
The group, which was led by Chief Obodoeze Ocho also made several other demands, and were assured that voted will be protected, urging the people to lead the charge.
Kenneth Okonkwo, a former Labour Party Chieftain and erstwhile spokesman to the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi was also among the delegates that visited the ADC Chieftain.
