Ramadan: Sokoto Commissioner Gives N30m, Rice to APC Executives

The Sokoto State Commissioner for Innovation and Digital Economy, Hon. Bashar Ummarun Kwabo A.A, has distributed N30 million and 500 bags of rice to executives and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 24 wards of Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Government Areas.

‎

‎The gesture, carried out during the Ramadan period, was described as a humanitarian intervention aimed at supporting party members and grassroots communities.

‎

‎Speaking in an interview with the Sokoto State Media Corporation, Kwabo said he was inspired by calls from the leader of the party in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, and Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, urging privileged individuals to assist the less privileged during Ramadan.

‎

‎He noted that the initiative also reflects his family’s tradition of public service, referencing his father, Alhaji Dr. Ummarun Kwabo A.A, and recalling the political era of former President Shehu Shagari.

‎

‎Representing Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the ceremony was Barr. Ibrahim Gandi, Senior Special Assistant on Administration and Legal Matters.

‎

‎Other dignitaries present included the Chairman of Sokoto North Local Government Council, Hon. Jamilu Umar Gosta, and Sokoto APC Chairman, Hon. Murtala Hassan, among other government aides.

‎

‎Governor Ahmed Aliyu, in his remarks, commended the Commissioner for what he described as exemplary leadership and urged other public office holders to emulate the gesture.
