Prophet who prophesied OPAY crash makes U-turn, tenders public apology

A Nigerian prophet, Aliyu Barnabas who earlier prophesied that one of the online banking companies, OPAY, would crash, has tendered a public apology to Nigerians and the company.

A few days ago, a viral video showed the prophet warning that OPAY would crash between October and December 2025.

The prophecy sparked heated discussions on social media, with many people calling for legal action against him. Others demanded that he apologise to OPAY.

Prophet Says He Meant No Harm

The prophet has now issued a public apology, stating that he did not intend to spoil anyone’s business but only did what he believed God told him. He pleaded for forgiveness, saying he was sorry.

He said: “As una no, I did prophecy concerning OPAY, I no get intention to spoil any person business, I’m sorry if that prophecy I prophesy if e spoil any person business. I no just purpose to prophecy, na wetin God send to do. I’m sorry, that prophecy is withdrawn in Jesus name.”

He concluded by saying that “let love leads.”

The apology has again triggered numerous reactions as Nigerians shared their opinions.
