‎The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) has reaffirmed its collective commitment to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, following a two-day strategic meeting held in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, from October 16–17, 2025.

‎In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by the Forum’s Chairman, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, the governors emphasized the need for deepened policy coordination, economic inclusion, and sustained national stability.

‎The Forum formally welcomed Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, and his team into the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the development as “historic and transformative.” The PGF noted that the defection expanded the number of APC governors to twenty-four (24), reinforcing the Party’s growing national appeal.

‎The communiqué commended President Tinubu for his “visionary economic reforms,” noting that inflation and interest rates are declining while foreign exchange stability and state revenues are improving. “For the states, not only is revenue on the increase, but the Federal Government has commendably refunded legacy debts, significantly expanding fiscal space,” the Forum said.

‎It also hailed the introduction of the Renewed Hope Ward-Based Development Programme as a model of cooperative federalism designed to empower all 8,809 wards across the country.

‎On national security, the governors lauded ongoing reforms and coordination among security agencies, promising sustained collaboration to enhance peace and community policing.

‎The Forum further congratulated the new APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and pledged continued loyalty to the Party’s leadership and the President’s agenda of unity, stability, and prosperity.

‎“We reaffirm our faith in a united, secure, and prosperous Nigeria,” the communiqué concluded.
