President Tinubu has posted, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu to serve as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Israel

According to Daily Post, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the State of Israel, as part of a broader diplomatic reshuffle aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s foreign missions around the world. The appointment reflects the administration’s effort to reposition Nigeria’s diplomatic service and deepen bilateral relationships with key international partners.

According to information from the Presidency, Ufochukwu is among several ambassadors recently assigned to different countries following their confirmation for diplomatic service. Her new role will place her in charge of Nigeria’s embassy in Tel Aviv, where she will represent Nigeria’s interests and work to expand cooperation between both nations.

As Nigeria’s ambassador to Israel, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu will be responsible for promoting political, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries. Her duties will also include supporting Nigerian citizens living in Israel, facilitating trade and investment opportunities, and strengthening diplomatic dialogue on issues of mutual interest.

Nigeria and Israel share long-standing diplomatic relations that span several decades. The two countries cooperate in various areas including agriculture, technology, security, education, and innovation. Israel is widely known for its advancements in agricultural technology, water management, and start-up innovation, sectors in which Nigeria has shown increasing interest.

Diplomatic observers believe Ufochukwu’s appointment could help deepen collaboration in these areas, particularly as Nigeria continues to seek partnerships that can support its economic diversification agenda. Nigeria has previously partnered with Israeli institutions in areas such as irrigation technology, smart farming techniques, and vocational training programs.

The ambassadorial posting is also part of a wider deployment of Nigerian diplomats to various missions across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Government officials say the move is designed to revitalize Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement globally while ensuring that qualified individuals are positioned to promote the country’s interests abroad.

Before assuming her duties, Ufochukwu is expected to undergo a formal diplomatic briefing and orientation organized by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This process will prepare newly appointed envoys for their responsibilities and align them with the country’s current foreign policy objectives.

In addition, Israel will need to formally approve her appointment through the diplomatic process known as agrément, a standard international procedure required before ambassadors can officially begin their assignments in host countries.See_More…
