Presidency Dismisses Video as False
In a swift response, the Nigerian Presidency has debunked the viral claim, describing the video as false and misleading.
D.O. Olusegun, the Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, replied directly under the viral post, stating, “This is false.”
Trump’s Controversial Remarks Fuel Tension
The viral post surfaced shortly after US President Donald Trump made controversial statements accusing the Nigerian government of allowing the persecution of Christians.
Trump claimed Nigeria had failed to stop attacks on Christian communities and threatened to halt all US aid to the country.
He went further to declare Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” and hinted at possible military intervention to “wipe out” Islamic terrorists.
His remarks sparked global backlash, with China openly opposing any foreign military action and reaffirming its support for Nigeria’s sovereignty.
