Police rescue Egyptian man abducted in Ibadan within 24 hours

The Oyo State Police Command has successfully rescued an Egyptian national just 24 hours after he was kidnapped in Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan, without any ransom paid.

Police spokesperson, CSP Osifeso Adewale, confirmed the rescue on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, praising the swift operation and inter-agency collaboration.

According to the statement, the operation involved officers from 4 PMF Ibadan, intelligence and tactical units from the command, local vigilantes, and support from Ogun State Police Command. The victim was traced after an intensive search through forests and border areas between Oyo and Ogun states.

Under the supervision of Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, the abducted man was safely recovered and is set to be reunited with his family after medical check-ups at the Police Hospital, Eleyele.

The police urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to ensure public safety across Oyo State.
