A Nigeria Police officer has come under intense public criticism after making alarming remarks about the fate of the 25 schoolgirls abducted in Kebbi State.
The officer, whose identity has not been officially disclosed, made the comments in a viral video circulating on social media, triggering nationwide outrage and condemnation.
In the footage, the officer suggested that the kidnapped girls were likely facing severe harm and went on to make an inappropriate statement about rescuing them.
He was heard in part saying …
“The 25 girls taken in Kebbi State are in trouble. They would be pregnant by now. God forbid I’m the one sent to rescue them”
The remark has been widely described as unprofessional, insensitive, and deeply troubling, particularly at a time when the families of the abducted students are still pleading for their safe return.
Concerned citizens have demanded an immediate investigation into the officer’s conduct, insisting that such statements undermine public trust in security agencies.
They also called on the Nigeria Police Force to reinforce disciplinary standards and ensure officers uphold the dignity and welfare of victims in sensitive cases.
Meanwhile, authorities in Kebbi State say rescue operations are ongoing, with security forces working to locate and safely recover the abducted students.

@MOkpogode said: “This isn’t fair.
This is wrong.
He is speaking ignorantly like any random Nigerian arguing in a restaurant, not someone on a duty post.
The excesses of social media users are becoming a disease.”
