Police arrest one more suspect, recover AK-47 in Kano’s Falgore Forest

The Kano State Police Command has arrested one more suspected bandit and recovered an AK-47 rifle with 18 rounds of live ammunition in the Falgore Forest axis.

The Command disclosed this in a follow-up press release on October 19, 2026, sequel to its earlier release on October 17 on the neutralization of two suspected bandits, recovery of N10 million ransom and rescue of a kidnapped victim in Falgore Forest, Doguwa LGA.

According to the police, operatives attached to Doguwa Division, in synergy with local hunters known as ‘Yan Bula’, embarked on intensive combing of Falgore Forest and its environs on October 18, 2026 at about 06:30hrs for possible arrest of fleeing suspects and recovery of operational weapons.

During the operation, one AK-47 Rifle with 18 rounds of live ammunition was recovered, while one suspect, Ibrahim Rabiu of Yardoka Village, Kubau LGA, Kaduna State, was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Alh. Kabiru Aliyu of Falgore Village, Doguwa LGA.

The police said during investigation, the rescued victim positively identified the suspect as the one who normally guarded him at night while in captivity, brought food to him and used to beat him mercilessly.

The suspect has been transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Anti-Kidnapping Squad for discreet investigation, with a view to arresting his accomplice at large and recovering more exhibits.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the gallantry and resilience of the ‘Yan Bula’ hunters, whose efforts continue to complement Operation Kukan Kura in securing the Falgore Forest axis and other communities.

The Command reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to fighting banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes, and solicited continued support through timely and credible information.
