The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Thursday arrested human rights activist and 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore was reportedly apprehended by armed policemen within the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja shortly after attending court proceedings to show solidarity with the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Confirming the development, the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said Sowore is currently in police custody and will be charged to court later today.
