Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has filed a ₦1.5 billion lawsuit against human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju over alleged defamatory social media posts.
It would be recalled that the dispute between Peter Obi and Deji Adeyanju escalated after Adeyanju sued Obi’s aide, Serah Ibrahim, for defaming his wife.
However, Obi’s lawyers, Ejesimen & Co (Madiba Chambers, SAN), responded by demanding Adeyanju retract his statements and issue a public apology, which he refused.
Details Of The Lawsuit
The suit, No. 0/254/25, was filed at the High Court of Anambra State, Onitsha Judicial Division, on October 3, 2025.
According to the details of the lawsuit shared by Deji Adeyanju in a now-viral Facebook post, Peter Obi is seeking ₦500 million in aggravated damages and ₦1 billion in general damages.
Additionally, he demands retraction, apology, and a perpetual injunction against further defamatory publications.
Deji Adeyanju Reacts To Lawsuit
Reacting to the lawsuit, Deji Adeyanju expressed excitement and vowed to prove in court that Peter Obi is into corruption and fraudulent activities.
