Pepper seller handsomely rewarded after kind gesture to stranded customer

A Nigerian pepper seller has shared her joy after a simple act of kindness turned into an unexpected blessing when a customer, initially unable to pay due to bank transfer issues, later surprised her with a large sum of money.

Narrating her experience in a TikTok video via her page, @agbekealataigbalode, the trader revealed that a man came to her stall to buy tomatoes and pepper before purchasing onions from another seller nearby.

When it was time to pay, the man tried multiple times to transfer money using his banking app, but the transaction kept failing. Seeing his frustration, she decided to extend trust and kindness.

“No problem, Oga. You can take the tomatoes and go. When next you come to the market, you can come to make payment to me; I’ll give the person selling onions her money,” she recalled telling him.

A surprise act of generosity

The customer requested her phone number, and after receiving it, sent her a message asking for her account details.

To her astonishment, instead of just paying for the tomatoes and onions, he transferred a substantial amount of money as a gesture of appreciation for her honesty and patience.

“This person had to send a huge amount of money to me. He said he used it to compensate me for what I did for him. He said he never expected such,” she said with excitement in her video.
