In a recent interview on Symfoni TV, Bayelsa State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, George Turnah, spoke on the renewed unity within the party and its preparedness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the PDP convention, Turnah stated, “We have embraced peace and are ready, like a broom bound together, to face the 2027 election.” He used the statement to emphasize that the convention has served as a platform to reconcile differences and strengthen cohesion among party members.
Turnah explained that after a period of internal challenges, the PDP is now unified, with members committed to working together across all levels. According to him, the imagery of a “broom bound together” reflects the collective strength that comes from solidarity, signaling the party’s readiness to contest effectively in the upcoming elections.
He further noted that the convention is energizing both leaders and grassroots supporters, reinforcing trust and encouraging collaboration across states. Turnah added that the renewed focus on unity will improve organizational strategy and voter mobilization, positioning the PDP as a strong contender in 2027.
The Bayelsa State chairman also highlighted that while disagreements had existed in the past, the live convention demonstrates the party’s commitment to peace and constructive engagement. He urged all members to maintain this spirit of collaboration as they move toward the elections.
He concluded by expressing confidence that the PDP, now bound together like a broom, is well-prepared to face the 2027 polls and emerge stronger as a united political force.
