The Taminu Turaki–led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued formal certificates of expulsion to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and other recently sanctioned members.
Turaki announced this on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja.
It will be recalled that the party had unanimously expelled Wike and former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, over alleged anti-party activities.
Also expelled were the party’s National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and eight other members. In addition, the party dissolved its structures in Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers states.
According to the party leadership, the affected chieftains were sanctioned for engaging in acts deemed inimical to the unity and interest of the PDP, including repeated litigations against the party.
Turaki confirmed that the certificates of expulsion had already been dispatched to the individuals through courier services.
