Paystack Fires Co-Founder Over Misconduct

Nigerian fintech giant Paystack has terminated the employment of its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Olubi disclosed the development in a post on his personal blog over the weekend, stating that the decision was made even before the company concluded its independent investigation.

According to him, his legal team is currently reviewing the circumstances surrounding his dismissal.

“On Saturday, 22 November 2025, I was informed that my employment had been terminated. My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies. They will take the steps they consider appropriate, and I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time,” he wrote.

NAIJAONPOINT had earlier reported that Paystack suspended Olubi after sexual misconduct allegations involving a colleague surfaced.

The controversy began in mid-November after a social media post accusing Olubi of abusive behaviour went viral, prompting users to resurface several explicit tweets from earlier in his career.
