The Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, has come under heavy criticism after a video of him praying for late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo emerged social media.
TheNewsGuru reports that the clergyman was mocked over his failure to heal Alex, who had a protracted battle with kidney cancer before his demise.
Reacting to the backlash faced by the pastor, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, Ossai Ovie Success, expressed disappointment over the mockery as he, insisted that God still performs healing miracles among believers.
Ovie via his Facebook on Thursday warned critics not to laugh their way to self-destruction.
He wrote, “I’m disappointed in those mocking Pastor Jerry Eze for praying for Alex Ekubo, just because he still died of cancer.
“Whether you like it or not, God is still in the business of healing and miracles.
“Don’t laugh your way to self-destruction.
“The fact that Alex was prayed for doesn’t mean he couldn’t die. God knows what is best”.
