Panic In Bauchi As Bandits Invade Digare Community, Residents Cry Out For Security Deployment

Residents of Digare community in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State have raised the alarm over an ongoing attack by suspected bandits, calling on security agencies to urgently intervene as gunmen reportedly stormed the area on Friday night.

SaharaReporters gathered that the heavily armed bandits invaded Digare and surrounding settlements.

A security monitoring platform, Bakatsine, confirmed the development in a security alert issued late Friday, warning that the situation was rapidly deteriorating and required immediate intervention from security operatives.

“Security assistance is needed in Digare & surrounding communities,” the alert stated, noting that bandits were actively attacking the area at the time of the report.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the Bauchi State Police Command or other security agencies regarding the attack, and the extent of casualties or damage could not be independently verified.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that a mass abduction was carried out by suspected bandits near a technical college in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

SaharaReporters had gathered that the incident occurred on Friday evening when armed men, believed to be terrorists, invaded the community and whisked away several people to an unknown destination.

According to a local source familiar with the incident, the attackers struck near the technical college.

The source had explained that the abduction took place earlier in the evening near the technical college in Mopamuro.
