Oshodi-Isolo LG Refutes Video Alleging Rift Between Kendoo And Speaker Obasa, Condemns Attempts To Incite Violence
The attention of the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Adeola Al-Maroof-Oloyede (Kendoo), has been drawn to a video circulating on social media in which individuals who are members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) loyal to Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) made inflammatory statements aimed at pitting him against the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
We state categorically that there is no rift whatsoever between Otunba Al-Maroof-Oloyede and Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa. The Executive Chairman holds the Speaker in the highest esteem and has profound respect for both his person and the exalted office he occupies. The contents of the video are false, mischievous, and a deliberate attempt to manufacture discord where none exists.
The Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, under the leadership of Otunba Al-Maroof-Oloyede, remains fully committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to the success of the party’s activities in every Local Government across Lagos State. The administration stands ready to support any member contesting under the APC umbrella, including the Speaker’s aspiration to the Federal House of Representatives in Agege, anyone contesting for the State House of Assembly in Agege, as well as every other APC aspirant and candidate in Lagos State. The people of Agege are our people, as are the people of every community across the State.
We condemn, in the strongest terms, any attempt to incite violence under the guise of political loyalty. Lagos State thrives on peace, order, and mutual respect, and no individual or group has the right to threaten it for personal or sectional interests. Political differences, where they exist, must be resolved through dialogue and the party’s internal mechanisms, never through threats or the mobilisation of thugs.
To those behind the video, whether loyal to Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) or otherwise, if they have grown tired of the APC, they are free to leave the party. What they must not do is remain in the party while working to incite violence and undermine its unity and its leaders.
We urge security agencies to take note of the video, identify those behind it, and take appropriate action to preserve public peace. We also call on party faithful, transport workers, and residents of Oshodi-Isolo to remain calm, disregard this divisive propaganda, and continue to uphold peace, unity, and lawful conduct.
For the avoidance of doubt, there is no disagreement between Kendoo and Speaker Obasa. Their relationship is founded on mutual respect, and no misleading video should be allowed to suggest otherwise.
Oshodi-Isolo Local Government remains focused on delivering good governance, promoting peace and unity, and supporting the progress of the APC in Lagos State.
