The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North-East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Maj-Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, has renewed the command’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB).
This was contained in a statement issued by Lt-Col Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, OPHK, after the Vice-Chancellor of NAUB, Prof Lawal Bala Buratai, led a delegation to the Theatre Headquarters on Wednesday.
Prof Buratai said the visit was aimed at fostering academic and security collaboration.
“We are here to consolidate the relationship between NAUB and OPHK, particularly in training and capacity building,” he said, commending the troops for their dedication to peace in Borno State.
He outlined NAUB’s programmes in Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Security Management, encouraging OPHK personnel to participate for enhanced professional development.
Maj-Gen Abubakar, while welcoming the delegation, emphasised education as a driver of military efficiency.
“NAUB is a strategic institution for the Armed Forces, and OPHK remains committed to supporting and protecting it,” he said.
He added that the command was ready to take full advantage of the university’s academic offerings to strengthen internal capabilities.
The event ended with the signing of the Visitors’ Register, exchange of gifts and a group photograph.
