An old video of renowned Nigerian preacher Rev. Uma Ukpai narrating his encounter with a billionaire who allegedly offered him N13 billion has resurfaced online.
In the viral clip shared by @theechoesfromzion on Instagram, Ukpai recounted that the billionaire had claimed God made him the seventh-richest man in Nigeria and instructed him to donate ₦13 billion to the preacher’s ministry.

Rev. Uma Ukpai disputes the man’s claims
However, Ukpai said he challenged the man’s claim, insisting that God did not direct him to give out the entire amount. According to him, the true divine instruction was for the billionaire to give only ₦1 billion and retain the rest.
The cleric added that when he informed his wife about rejecting the offer, she was visibly upset, reminding him of the numerous issues such an amount could have solved.
He chooses obedience over wealth
Ukpai, however, maintained that he chose obedience over wealth, emphasizing that he would never accept money under false pretenses, no matter the amount.
His words …
“He called me and said God has made me the 7th richest man in Nigeria and he asked me to give you money. I said oh okay, you can go on. How much? He said God asked him to give me N13 billion. Thirteen billion naira. I asked him to stop. God did not say that. God asked you to give me only N1 billion and you take N12 million. My wife protested. She asked me, do you know how many problems N13 billion can solve? No, no, no. It’s not how many problems N13 billion can solve, but the will of God. How much did God want me to collect? Not how much I want to spend. Yes, she said you know I don’t think you came to this world with your head. But whether I came with my head or came with your own, Praise God. It’s something only me can do.”
