Old tweet of lawyer who warned Ola of Lagos about demolition risk resurfaces

Social media is buzzing after an old tweet from a Nigerian lawyer resurfaced online, showing that he had earlier warned car dealer, Ola of Lagos, about the dangers of building his car outlet under a high-tension power line.

In the viral tweet, the lawyer cautioned Ola of Lagos against setting up his car business directly under a 132kv/330kv power line, explaining that it was a serious safety and legal violation.

According to him, Nigerian law prohibits construction within 30 to 50 metres of such high-tension lines due to the risks of fire, electrocution, and power-related accidents.

He added that if any mishap occurred, the electricity company would not be held responsible, since the structure would have breached public safety laws.

The tweet resurfaced shortly after the Lagos State Government demolished Ola of Lagos’ new car outlet, OOL Autos, reportedly for being built under the same type of power line.

Despite the controversy, Ola has maintained a positive attitude, assuring fans via Instagram that “all is well” and promising to bounce back “bigger and better.”

Many Nigerians praised the lawyer’s foresight, while others advised Ola to take legal and safety consultations more seriously before reinvesting in a new showroom.

As the old tweet trends again, fans say the incident is a reminder that success needs wisdom, and that ignoring professional advice can be costly.
