The Ojora family of Lagos has announced the death of its patriarch, Otunba Adekunle Ojora, the Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ife.
In a statement released on Wednesday and signed by Mrs Toyin Ojora Saraki on behalf of the family, the family said Otunba Ojora passed away in the early hours of the day, submitting to the will of Almighty Allah (SWT).
“We say Alhamdulillahi for a life well lived and we comply with Allah’s words: ‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return’ (Qur’an 2:156),” the statement read.
Otunba Adekunle Ojora died at the age of 93. According to the family, he will be buried in Lagos in accordance with Islamic rites.
The late traditional title holder was described as a dignified elder who lived a fulfilled life in service to his family and community.
He is survived by his wife, Erelu Ojulape Ojora, as well as his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family urged members of the public to join them in prayers, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him peace in the grave and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus.
