Obokun APC Stages Grand Reception for Oyintiloye in Ibokun

Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obokun Local Government Area on Sunday evening turned out in large numbers to welcome party chieftain, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, to Ibokun.

The reception, described by party members as grand, drew supporters and residents from across the community who gathered to receive the former lawmaker.

Party leaders said the turnout was organised to demonstrate solidarity with Oyintiloye and to reaffirm support for his roles in party activities within the local government and beyond.

Several APC stakeholders took turns to address the gathering, speaking on Oyintiloye’s contributions to the party and his engagement with the community over the years.

The APC Chairman in Obokun Local Government, Hon. Adesina Oluyide dismissed reports of Oyintiloye’s purported suspension, describing them as false.

“The insinuation making the rounds about the suspension of our leader, Hon. Oyintiloye is a lie, and members of the public should disregard it,” the chairman said.

Former member of the House of Representatives for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwatayo Rufus also addressed party members at the event.

Rufus urged members to ignore any alleged suspension, stating, “The ward chairman does not have the power to remove Hon. Oyintiloye from the party. What the APC needs at this time is a mobiliser like him.”

In his remarks, former Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Alhaji Asaolu Oladiran, called on party officials, particularly youths in leadership positions, to exercise restraint in the use of authority.

“It is disturbing that anyone would attempt to remove a leader of this standing from the party. Such actions amount to an abuse of power,” Oladiran said.

He added that party leaders should address the issue promptly to prevent a recurrence, warning that unresolved disputes could affect party cohesion.

Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Maruf Ogundipe and his counterpart Hon. Olubunmi Obesun from Oriade told party members that Oyintiloye remained a bona fide member of the APC.

“We must work together with a common purpose to ensure success in the forthcoming elections,” Obesun and muruf said.

Responding, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye thanked party leaders and supporters for the reception, pledging continued commitment to the APC.

He urged members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, saying, “We should embark on house-to-house enlightenment and ensure that party members complete their e-registration.”
