Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Tuesday held a private meeting with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), at Babangida’s Hilltop residence in Minna, the Niger State capital.
Sources at the Ahmed Bola Tinubu International Airport, Minna, said Obasanjo arrived in the state earlier in the day and was escorted from the airport by officials of the Niger State Government to Babangida’s home.
The closed-door meeting reportedly lasted about 30 minutes, after which Obasanjo was conveyed back to the airport under the same official protocol.
Details of the discussion were not disclosed, as no official statement was issued by either camp as of press time.
Attempts to obtain comments from individuals at Babangida’s residence were unsuccessful, with aides declining to speak on the visit.
The purpose of the meeting between the two elder statesmen remains unclear.
