The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced Thursday, December 18, 2025, as the official passing-out date for Corps Members of the 2024 Batch C, Stream II.
The ceremony, approved by the NYSC management, will be a low-key event featuring the distribution of Certificates of National Service to deserving Corps Members across all local government areas in Nigeria.
December 18 set for Passing-Out Ceremony
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the NYSC’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, activities leading up to the passing-out include Job Advisory and Counselling sessions organised by the Corps and its partner agencies, as well as the signing of final clearance forms by Zonal Inspectors.
“The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, wishes the Corps Members a successful winding-up and passing-out exercise,” the statement read. “He also urged them to allow the core values of the Scheme guide them in their post-service relationships as good ambassadors of NYSC.”
The NYSC programme, established in 1973 by the Nigerian government, aims to promote national unity, integration, and development.
It is a one-year mandatory service for Nigerian graduates under the age of 30, comprising a three-week orientation camp, a primary assignment phase, and a community development service period.
During the three-week orientation camp, Corps Members are introduced to paramilitary drills, leadership development, entrepreneurship training through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, and community integration activities.
NYSC: Promoting unity and national development
Following orientation, Corps Members are posted to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPA), where they contribute to education, health, agriculture, and other critical sectors across the country.
The NYSC programme has long been recognised as a platform for fostering national cohesion while equipping young graduates with practical skills and experiences that prepare them for professional and civic life.
By actively participating in their communities, Corps Members contribute meaningfully to national development and social cohesion.
